Linode Akamai United States Atlanta Dedicated CPU Cloud Hosting Test and Review
In this evaluation, we will test the Linode Akamai United States Atlanta Dedicated CPU VPS Server. The AMD EPYC 7713 64-Core Processor powers the server and includes specifications such as 4 CPU cores, 8 GB of RAM, 160 GB of SSD storage, 5 TB of bandwidth, and one each of IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.
We’ll begin with the Basic Benchmark, Yabs, and Unix Benchmark tests, which provide essential performance metrics. The Global Node Test will be carried out for a broad network performance assessment, and the Global Ping Test will be employed to evaluate latency.
To ascertain regional accessibility, we’re conducting the Media Unlock Test. The CloudFlare Internet Test will help us gauge the connection quality to the network from various locations. Finally, we’ll glean insights into the server’s web performance using assessments from tools like PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix Performance.

A critical part of the evaluation was the I/O Speed tests, where run readings were performed to reflect server efficiency. The first I/O speed test displayed 1.2 GB/s, significantly improving in the second and third runs at 1.8 GB/s and 1.9 GB/s, respectively. The average I/O speed was computed to 1672.5 MB/s. An extensive network speed measurement analysis demonstrated high-speed uploads and downloads, with the latency notably low in the Speedtest.net context.
The fio Disk Speed Tests were conducted under mixed R/W (reading/writing) conditions to evaluate the disk speed. Excellent read, write, and total rates were observed for both 4k (IOPS) and 64k (IOPS) block sizes. Even better results were seen with 512k (IOPS) and 1m (IOPS) block sizes, producing total speeds surpassing 18GB/s.
