VPSie Netherlands Amsterdam Shared CPU VPS Hosting Test and Review
We will check out the Amsterdam VPS server from VPSie in the Netherlands. It’s got a regular KVM chip with the following specs: 1 CPU core, 1 GB of memory, 20 GB of SSD space, 1 TB of bandwidth, and one of each IPv4 and IPv6 address.
Our review will cover several thorough checks. We’ll run the Basic and Yabs benchmarks to look at the key numbers, test the network with the Global Node Test, and measure response times with the Global Ping Test.
We’ll see if the server can access content from different regions with the Media Unlock Test, check the connection quality with the CloudFlare Internet Test, and judge web performance using PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix. These detailed tests will give us a complete understanding of the server’s capabilities.

Conclusion
In the I/O Speed test, there were three runs. The first one returned 534 MB/s, the second increased marginally to 559 MB/s, and the third saw a significant jump to 694 MB/s. The average speed from these three tests stood at 595.7 MB/s. Various node name upload and download speeds were also measured, with latencies also determined.
Across different locations – from Los Angeles, US, to Tokyo, JP – upload speeds tended to fall within a close range of around 16-17.79 Mbps, while download speeds hovered around the 15-16 Mbps mark. Latencies varied widely depending on the geographical location, with the lowest being 2.46 ms (Amsterdam, NL) and the highest being 297.34 ms (Singapore, SG).
The Mixed Read/Write (R/W) fio Disk Speed Tests gave further insight into the server’s capabilities. At a block size of 4k, read and write speeds are registered at around 28.8 MB/s. Upon increasing the block size to 64k, there was a significant jump in speed to approximately 149 MB/s.
Finally, at the block size of 512k, read and write speeds were over 256 MB/s, and at block size 1m, these speeds further increased to approximately 258 MB/s for read and 275 MB/s for write.
In conclusion, the VPSie Amsterdam VPS Server demonstrates a robust performance in I/O and disk speed tests, though its latency varied significantly across different locations. Yet, it falls short when it involves high memory-demanding operations, as evidenced by the failed Geekbench test. Therefore, users with high-performance requirements might want to increase SWAP memory or utilize GB4 for increased compatibility.
