We recently put WebHorizon’s Singapore Performance Cheap VPS (Ryzen-KVM-2GB plan) through its paces. This server gives you one core from a powerful AMD Ryzen 9 9900X processor. Our tests showed impressive processing power for a single core, hitting a Geekbench 5 score of 2315. While the newer Geekbench 6 test didn’t complete automatically, the version 5 result clearly shows this core packs a punch. Memory performance was also top-notch, with benchmark tools reporting incredibly fast read and write speeds, suggesting the RAM can keep up with demanding tasks.
Storage uses a fast 20GB NVMe SSD, and our disk benchmarks confirmed its speed. We saw excellent input/output operations per second (IOPS) in the fio tests, reaching over 130,000 for small 4k block sizes. Tests reading and writing larger files also showed speeds easily exceeding 1 GB/s. This means the disk handles random access (like databases) and large file transfers very quickly.
Network connectivity proved strong, especially within the region. Tests to another high-speed server in Singapore showed speeds pushing the limits of a 1 Gbps connection (around 930 Mbps both ways). Connections to Europe (Amsterdam) were also fast, exceeding 800 Mbps. Speeds to the US were decent, generally ranging from 300 Mbps to 700 Mbps, depending on the location and direction, which is respectable for the distance.
The server’s IP address appears generally clean, though databases recognize it as coming from a hosting provider. It successfully accessed Singapore-based Netflix, YouTube Premium, and Amazon Prime Video, along with AI services like ChatGPT and Google Gemini. However, it didn’t work for all streaming platforms like Dazn or Disney+. Most standard ports were open for email sending, suggesting basic email delivery should function, though some specific secure ports or providers might have limitations.
In conclusion, the WebHorizon Singapore Ryzen-KVM-2GB VPS delivers impressive performance, especially considering its “cheap” label. Its standout features include a very fast CPU core, speedy RAM, and quick NVMe storage.
