Octopus Web Solution Philippines Manila Intel Core Shared vCPU OWS Planets Test and Review

We recently put Octopus Web Solution‘s (OWS) Manila server to the test. This server plan “2C-2G,” runs on an Intel processor and comes with 2 CPU cores, 2 GB of RAM, and 40 GB of SSD storage. It also has a fast 1 Gbps internet connection and gives you 4 GB of free traffic each hour. We wanted to see how well it handles everyday tasks.

OWS Planets are Linux-based virtual machines (VMs) that run on top of virtualized hardware. Each Planet you create is a new server you can use, either standalone or as part of a larger, cloud-based infrastructure.

Conclusion

Our tests showed some good results. The server’s memory performed well, with fast read and write speeds. The network speeds were also solid, especially in Singapore. However, disk speeds were a bit slower than we expected. We also ran a Geekbench 5 test to measure the server’s overall performance. The single-core score was 774, and the multi-core score was 1094. Unfortunately, the Geekbench 6 test failed.

We also checked if the server could unlock streaming services in the Philippines. It worked with Netflix, YouTube Premium, and Amazon Prime Video. The server also passed most IP quality checks, but some tests flagged it as a potential proxy. Finally, we tested email port detections, and it passed most of the tests.

In short, the OWS Manila server offers decent performance for its price. While the disk speeds could be better, the memory and network speeds are good. It’s a solid option if you need a server in the Philippines and want to access streaming services there.
