Hetzner Singapore AMD EPYC Dedicated vCPU Cloud Server Test and Review
We put Hetzner‘s Singapore CCX13 cloud server to the test, examining its performance across several key metrics. This configuration boasts a 2-core AMD EPYC processor, 8GB of RAM, and an 80GB SSD, connected via a 1 Gbps port. Our goal was to determine if this setup delivers the speed and reliability users expect.
Our review includes various tests: the Basic Benchmark, and Yabs for performance metrics, the Global Node Test for different location network speeds, and the Global Ping Test for latency measurement. We also use The Media Unlock Test for media accessibility, the CloudFlare Internet Test for connection quality, and web performance evaluations via PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix.

Conclusion
Our initial benchmark focused on I/O speed, a critical factor in website responsiveness. Across three consecutive tests, the server consistently delivered excellent results, averaging 992 MB/s. This places it firmly in the top tier of performance, indicating a highly responsive storage system capable of handling demanding workloads. Further tests using the Yabs benchmark confirmed this impressive performance, with mixed read/write speeds exceeding expectations, particularly with larger block sizes reaching over 5 GB/s.
Network performance also proved strong. The server achieved a blazing-fast upload and download speed of over 6 Gbps in the local Singapore test, demonstrating the advertised 1 Gbps connection is effectively utilized. International speeds varied, with strong performance observed in locations closer to Singapore and expected latency increases for more distant servers.
Finally, we evaluated processing power using Geekbench 6. The server achieved a single-core score of 1906 and a multi-core score of 2430. This single-core result places the CCX13 in the “good” category, suggesting solid performance for single-threaded applications. The multi-core score further highlights the capability of the EPYC processor to handle multi-threaded tasks efficiently.
In conclusion, the Hetzner Singapore CCX13 cloud server demonstrates impressive performance in our tests. Its excellent I/O and network speeds, coupled with good processing power, make it a strong contender for users seeking a responsive and reliable hosting solution in the Singapore region. While the CPU performance isn’t top-of-the-line, the overall package offers a compelling balance of speed and affordability.
