We put Linode‘s Jakarta, Indonesia Dedicated CPU Instance (the 4GB plan) to the test. This server boasts a powerful AMD EPYC 7713 64-Core Processor, and we tested its 2 cores, 4GB of RAM, 80GB SSD, 4Gbps internet port, 4TB traffic allowance, and single IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.
Our tests covered performance (using Basic Benchmark and Yabs), global network speeds (Global Node Test), latency (Global Ping Test), media streaming access (Media Unlock Test), connection quality (CloudFlare Internet Test), and website speed (PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix).

Conclusion
We tested Linode’s 4GB Jakarta, Indonesia Dedicated CPU Instance, focusing on its performance with the advertised AMD EPYC 7713 processor. Our benchmark tests reveal a mixed bag of results, highlighting both the strengths and weaknesses of this particular configuration.
The disk I/O performance, averaging 619.7 MB/s, falls into the good range, suitable for most web applications and databases. Yabs benchmark further confirmed decent disk speeds, especially with larger block sizes, reaching over 5 GB/s, indicating good performance for file transfers and handling larger files.
Network speeds vary significantly depending on the location. While the connection to Singapore showed blazing-fast speeds exceeding 11 Gbps download, connections to other locations, like the US and Europe, were considerably slower. This highlights the advantage of targeting a Southeast Asian audience with this server. The low latency to Singapore also reinforces its suitability for regional deployments.
