Nube Cloud Singapore AMD EPYC 7663 Powerful Elastic Cloud Server Test and Review
We put Nube Cloud‘s Singapore Powerful Elastic Cloud Server (a3s.2c4g plan) to the test. This server boasts an AMD EPYC 7663 56-core Processor and packs 2 cores, 4GB RAM, 50GB SSD storage, a 1 Gbps port, and one IPv4 address.
We ran a series of tests to check its performance, including Basic, Yabs, and Unix benchmarks. We measured network speeds worldwide with the Global Node Test and checked latency with the Global Ping Test. Our team also tested media streaming access (Media Unlock Test), internet connection quality (CloudFlare Internet Test), and website speed using PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix.

Conclusion
Disk I/O performance showed promising results. While the initial test showed a decent 285 MB/s, subsequent tests ramped up to an excellent 1.1 GB/s, averaging a good 612.8 MB/s overall. Yabs benchmark further confirmed this, demonstrating strong read/write speeds, especially with larger block sizes, exceeding 1.25 GB/s with 512k blocks.
The Geekbench 6 single-core score of 1558 falls within the good range, indicating respectable processing power for single-threaded tasks. The multi-core score of 2875 also demonstrates decent performance for multi-threaded applications, although it doesn’t fully utilize the underlying architecture’s potential given the 2-core allocation.
Network speed tests revealed excellent connectivity within the Asia-Pacific region, especially to Singapore and Hong Kong. However, connections to North America and Europe showed higher latency and more variable speeds. The 1 Gbps port performed well within the local region, achieving close to its theoretical maximum in some tests.
UnixBench results further highlight the server’s strengths in file I/O and processing. The system benchmarks index scores, particularly in the second run with increased parallel processing, showcase robust performance. However, the relatively low pipe-based context switching score suggests potential bottlenecks in inter-process communication.
In conclusion, the Nube Cloud a3s.2c4g server offers good disk I/O and processing power for its specifications. While network performance shines within the Asia-Pacific region, users targeting other geographical locations should consider potential latency and speed variations. This server presents a viable option for users prioritizing local performance and storage speed.
