Exoscale Bulgaria Sofia Intel Xeon CPU Optimized On-demand Cloud Server Test and Review
We recently tested the Exoscale Bulgaria Sofia CPU Optimized On-demand Cloud Server (Extra-Large Plan). It runs on an Intel Xeon Processor (Skylake) and offers 8 CPU cores, 16 GB RAM, 50 GB SSD storage, a 1 Gbps internet port, and one IPv4 address.
Our review covers several tests: Basic Benchmark, Yabs, and Unix Benchmark for performance, Global Node Test for network speeds across locations, and Global Ping Test for latency. We also check media access with The Media Unlock Test, connection quality with the CloudFlare Internet Test, and web performance using PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix.

Conclusion
In our Basic Benchmark, the server delivered an average I/O speed of 332.7 MB/s, which is solid but leaves room for improvement. Upload and download speeds were impressive, with local speeds reaching over 9300 Mbps. Internationally, speeds varied, with Amsterdam showing strong results at over 9300 Mbps download, while Singapore lagged.
The Yabs performance test showed excellent disk speeds, with read and write operations exceeding 1.6 GB/s for larger block sizes. This indicates the server handles mixed read/write tasks efficiently, making it suitable for data-intensive operations.
The Geekbench 6 results were strong, with a single-core score of 1133 and a multi-core score of 5904, placing the server in the good performance category. UnixBench further confirmed the server’s capabilities, achieving a high System Benchmarks Index Score of 4343.9, showcasing its ability to handle multiple processes and tasks simultaneously.
