Evoxt Japan Tokyo AMD EPYC-Genoa Processor Virtual Machine Test and Review

We recently tested the Evoxt Japan Tokyo Virtual Machine (Plan: VM-2), which features an AMD EPYC-Genoa Processor, 4 CPU cores, 8 GB RAM, 160 GB NVMe SSD storage, a 1 Gbps internet port, 20 TB traffic, and both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.

Our review included several tests: the Basic Benchmark, Yabs, and Unix Benchmark to measure performance, the Global Node Test to check network speeds from different locations, and the Global Ping Test to gauge latency. We also assessed media streaming with The Media Unlock Test, connection quality with the CloudFlare Internet Test, and website performance using PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix.

Conclusion

In our Basic Benchmark test, the I/O speed averaged an impressive 2355.2 MB/s, categorized as excellent. Upload speeds peaked at 1319.34 Mbps in Tokyo, while download speeds soared to 9251.03 Mbps. Network tests showed varied performance across locations, with the best results in Tokyo and the lowest speeds reported for Chongqing and Hong Kong.

The Yabs performance benchmark confirmed strong disk speeds, with mixed read/write speeds reaching up to 5.19 GB/s for larger block sizes. This indicates the server can handle heavy read/write operations smoothly, making it suitable for data-intensive applications.
