Kamatera United Kingdom London Type A Intel Xeon Platinum 8358P Cloud Server Test and Review

We recently tested Kamatera‘s High-Performance Cloud Server in London, UK. This server uses an Intel Xeon Platinum 8358P CPU running at 2.60GHz. It has 2 CPU cores, 4 GB of RAM, 50 GB SSD storage, a 1 Gbps internet connection, and one IPv4 address.

Our review covered several tests:

  1. Performance: We ran Basic Benchmark, Yabs, and Unix Benchmark tests.
  2. Network speed: We used the Global Node Test to check speeds from different locations.
  3. Latency: We measured response times with the Global Ping Test.
  4. Media access: The Media Unlock Test helped us check content availability.
  5. Connection quality: We used the CloudFlare Internet Test for this.
  6. Web performance: We evaluated the server using PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix.

These tests give a comprehensive view of the server’s capabilities and performance.

Admin Control Panel

Kamatera United Kingdom London Type A Intel Xeon Platinum 8358P Cloud Server Test and Review

Kamatera’s Admin Control Console offers a user-friendly interface for managing your cloud resources. It provides the tools to control your servers, reset passwords, and more.

You’ll find an administrative panel on the left when you log in to the console. This panel guides you to “My Cloud” and then to “Servers”. You can see all your servers listed here.

Each server has an “Action” button. Clicking on this button opens a drop-down menu. Select “Console” from this menu, which opens a new tab. This console window displays the server specifications.

Two buttons are present in the top right corner of the console window. One button initiates a ctrl+alt+del command, which is useful for Windows operating systems to bring up the login screen. The other button allows you to end the open session manually. Using this button when you finish working in the console window is a good practice.

The console window does not support the copy & paste function. If you leave the console window idle for 30 minutes, it will automatically terminate the connection.

In addition to managing servers, you can reset server passwords through the Admin Control Console. You navigate to “My Cloud” > “Servers,” locate the server, click “Action,” and then select “Reset Password.” You then type your new password, verify it, and click the “Reboot and Reset Password” button.

Kamatera’s High-Performance Cloud Server in London, UK, packs a punch with its Intel Xeon Platinum CPU. We put this 2-core, 4GB RAM server through its paces with a series of tests to check its performance.

The server’s I/O speed is impressive, averaging 1467.7 MB/s across three runs. This is excellent performance, far exceeding the 1000 MB/s benchmark for top-tier speeds. The Yabs Performance Bench also showed strong results, with read and write speeds reaching up to 5.56 GB/s for large file sizes.

CPU performance is solid, as shown by the Geekbench 6 Benchmark Test. The single-core score of 1232 and multi-core score of 2266 indicate good performance, especially for a 2-core setup. The UnixBench tests further confirm the CPU’s capabilities, with high scores in Dhrystone and Whetstone calculations.

In conclusion, Kamatera’s cloud server demonstrates excellent I/O speeds and strong CPU performance. It’s well-suited for tasks requiring fast data processing and storage operations. While it may not be the most powerful option for heavy multi-threaded workloads due to its 2-core setup, it offers robust performance for its specifications. This server would be a good choice for many web hosting needs, especially those prioritizing fast data access and processing.
