We recently tested the ServerPoint USA Ashburn High-Frequency CPU VPS (Plan: G4.4). This server uses an Intel Xeon Gold 6144 CPU @ 3.50GHz processor. Here’s the setup: 2 CPU cores, 4 GB RAM, 80 GB SSD storage, 1 Gbps internet port, 7 TB traffic, and 1x IPv4 address.

Payments
ServerPoint introduced hourly billing for their ColossusCloud platform. They compute the hourly price by dividing the monthly standard price of a virtual server by 672, which is the number of hours in 28 days. You add funds to your account via their accepted payment methods, such as PayPal or credit card. Every hour, their system deducts the hourly cost of your virtual server(s) from these funds.
If you have a virtual server for more than 28 days in a month with more than 28 days, you will be billed the monthly price. So, if you create a virtual server and destroy it four hours later, you would pay for four hours of that virtual server.
Moreover, approximately 72 hours before you run out of funds, their system calculates the total cost for your virtual servers for the next 672 hours and charges your credit card for such an amount. You will receive an invoice if they don’t have a credit card on record for your account.
Lastly, your account may be suspended if you don’t pay within those 72 hours. Refunds are issued through the same payment method originally used to purchase the Services. All refunds are subject to administrative fees.

Conclusion
For I/O speed, we achieved an average of 406.3 MB/s across three tests. This speed is decent, falling into the good performance range. The upload and download speeds varied greatly depending on the location. In the USA, the server demonstrated impressive speeds, such as 499.50 Mbps upload and 2648.46 Mbps download in Dallas. In contrast, international speeds were generally strong, with a few slower results like Singapore’s 86.35 Mbps upload and 19.85 Mbps download.
Using Yabs Performance Bench, the disk speed tests showed solid performance. With mixed read and write speeds, the server clocked 776.43 MB/s for 64k block size operations and 831.54 MB/s for 1m block size operations, indicating a robust disk performance.
In the Geekbench 6 Benchmark Test, the single-core score was 1372, and the multi-core score was 2477. These results are good, indicating strong processing capabilities suitable for demanding applications.
The UnixBench score further confirmed this VPS’s performance strength. It achieved an overall score of 2496.6 in parallel tests, showcasing excellent CPU power and file-handling capabilities.
