ServerPoint United States Las Vegas Intel Xeon Gold High Frequency CPU VPS Test and Review
We recently tested the ServerPoint United States Las Vegas High-Frequency CPU VPS. The server is powered by Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 6144 CPU @ 3.50GHz Processor, with the following configuration: 2 Cores CPU/4 GB RAM/80 GB SSD Storage/1 Gbps Internet Port/7 TB Traffic/1x IPv4 Address.
In our review, we conducted various tests to measure its performance. These included the Basic Benchmark, Yabs, and Unix Benchmark to check its performance levels. We also tested network speeds from different locations with the Global Node Test and measured latency with the Global Ping Test.
Additionally, we checked how well it handles media content with the Media Unlock Test, analyzed connection quality through the CloudFlare Internet Test, and evaluated overall web performance using tools like PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix.
About ServerPoint
ServerPoint offers diverse services, but its crown jewel is the cloud computing platform ColossusCloud. This platform allows you to deploy anything from web hosting for small websites to bare metal servers or Windows and Linux virtual servers. The beauty of this platform lies in its scalability. As your business grows, so does the platform, without surprise costs.
Now, let’s delve into the specifics of their virtual server offerings. ServerPoint provides both Linux and Windows virtual servers. These servers are powered by ServerPoint’s ColossusCloud platform. You can deploy these servers at any of their worldwide locations, including Silicon Valley, Las Vegas, Dallas, Ashburn, Amsterdam, and Singapore.
ServerPoint offers a variety of virtual server plans to cater to different needs. They have general-purpose virtual servers, high-frequency virtual servers, storage-optimized virtual servers, and high-memory-optimized virtual servers. Each category has plans for varying CPU, RAM, SSD disk, and transfer amounts. This variety ensures a plan for every need, whether you’re hosting many websites for your clients, running large RAM-based databases, or storing large amounts of data.
One of the standout features of ServerPoint’s virtual servers is their distributed SSD storage. Your virtual server’s disk contents are powered by Ceph, ensuring every piece of data is replicated across multiple disks and servers for high-performance I/O and redundancy.
Another noteworthy feature is the availability of popular Linux distros such as Ubuntu, AlmaLinux, and CentOS, as well as Windows 10, 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022. This wide range of operating systems ensures compatibility with various applications and environments.
ServerPoint also offers a one-click installation of cPanel, making it easier for users to manage their websites. This feature, coupled with their in-house support, makes ServerPoint a user-friendly choice for beginners and experienced users.

Conclusion
Starting with the Basic Benchmark, the average I/O speed of the server came to 398 MB/s across three tests, which places it in the ‘good’ category just below the upper ‘excellent’ range. Regarding internet connectivity, the server showed robust upload speeds near 500 Mbps and impressive download speeds, peaking at over 2,000 Mbps in some tests. However, performance varied considerably with geographic distance, especially in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Further, the Yabs performance tests provided insights into the mixed read/write operations, showing well over 800 MB/s in larger blocks, affirming the server’s robust handling of intensive operations. The Geekbench 6 results underscored a strong CPU performance, with a single-core score of 1327 and a multi-core score of 2388, indicating good capability. UnixBench tests echoed this with high CPU, I/O, and throughput scores, suggesting the server performs well under various computational loads.
In conclusion, this VPS from ServerPoint in Las Vegas demonstrates a commendable performance level suitable for high-demand applications. Its capabilities in handling data-intensive tasks and consistent connectivity make it a solid choice for businesses looking for reliable and powerful server solutions. Whether for web hosting, databases, or application development, it is a robust option in the competitive VPS arena.
