OneProvider Serbia Belgrade AMD EPYC General Purpose Instance Test and Review
We recently dived into the capabilities of the OneProvider Serbia Belgrade General Purpose Instance, boasting an AMD EPYC Processor with two cores, 4 GB of RAM, 20 GB of SSD storage, and robust internet connectivity featuring a 1 Gbps port and 2.5 TB of bandwidth. Our comprehensive exploration covered several tests to gauge its performance across different metrics.
We are starting with the Basic Benchmark, Yabs, and Unix Benchmark to see how it performs. We’ve got the Global Node Test to check internet speed from different places, and we’re doing the Global Ping Test to find out how fast it responds.
Our team also tests its ability to access various media with The Media Unlock Test, checks connection quality with the CloudFlare Internet Test, and gauges web performance with tools like PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix.
About OneProvider
OneProvider offers three instances: General Purpose, High Performance, and Storage. Each type is designed to cater to specific needs, ensuring users can find the perfect fit for their projects.
General Purpose Instances are the jack-of-all-trades in the OneProvider lineup. Available in 66 locations worldwide, these instances balance performance and affordability. They are powered by SSDs, ensuring fast and reliable performance. These instances are perfect for hosting moderate-traffic web servers, blogs, forums, small databases, or for testing purposes.
Next up, we have the High-Performance Instances. These instances are designed for larger projects, databases, or media streaming. They use Intel Enterprise, AMD EPYC CPUs, and enterprise-grade NVMe to deliver top-tier performance. These instances are bigger, faster, and scalable. They offer the flexibility of the cloud with hourly billing and quick deployment.
Last but not least, we have the Storage Instances. These instances are designed with high-capacity hard drives and offer unmetered bandwidth. They are perfect for safely hosting or storing all your media assets. With its redundant disk setup, this instance type ensures your data is safe and accessible.
OneProvider’s pricing model is straightforward to understand. They offer hourly billing, which means you only pay for what you use. This flexibility allows you to scale your resources up or down based on your needs.

Conclusion
The I/O speed tests showed average results, with speeds hovering around 132 MB/s, which falls into the lower performance bracket. Meanwhile, the server’s ability to handle mixed read/write operations was more promising, peaking at over 500 MB/s in some instances, indicating decent performance. Upload and download speeds varied significantly across different global locations, with speeds in some areas like Amsterdam showing impressive figures (above 700 Mbps) but lagging in others like Singapore.
Our Geekbench 6 results painted a mixed picture. The single-core score was decent at 892, suggesting standard performance, while the multi-core score of 1603 pointed towards a good capability of handling multiple tasks simultaneously. UnixBench scores showed the server performed exceptionally well under both single and dual-CPU load scenarios, with a substantial increase in performance when both CPUs were engaged, reflected in a score jump from 823.7 to 1408.8. This suggests the server’s solid performance in more demanding environments or applications.
In conclusion, the OneProvider Serbia Belgrade instance shows much promise, especially in handling demanding tasks, thanks to its good multi-core performance and solid network capabilities in most tested regions. While I/O speeds were not groundbreaking, they are acceptable for many general-purpose applications. This server could be a strong contender for businesses looking for a mix of reliable performance and robust network capabilities at a global scale.
