99Stack Australia Sydney Intel Xeon Processor Standard Instance Test and Review
We’re testing the 99Stack Australia Sydney Standard VPS Instance this time. It’s running on an Intel Core Processor (Broadwell series, without TSX, IBRS), and here’s what it’s packed with: 2 CPU cores, 4 GB of RAM, 80 GB SSD storage, a 10 Gbps internet port, 3 TB of traffic allowance, and both an IPv4 and IPv6 address.
We’ll put it through a series of tests. We have the Basic Benchmark, Yabs, and Unix Benchmark for performance. We’ll run the Global Node Test and measure latency with the Global Ping Test to see how fast it connects worldwide.
Our team also checks media access with The Media Unlock Test, tests connection quality through the CloudFlare Internet Test, and evaluates web performance with PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix.
About 99Stack
99Stack Cloud stands out as a decentralized cloud. This means it doesn’t rely on a single data center or provider. Instead, it harnesses the power of numerous independent data center operators. This decentralization eliminates vendor lock-in and centralized dependencies, offering you a flexible and resilient cloud experience.
Secondly, 99Stack Cloud places a high emphasis on privacy. Unlike many other providers, they collect only the bare minimum of personal information required to establish a contract. They even accept payments in major cryptocurrencies, including privacy coins. This approach ensures that your privacy remains intact while you enjoy their services.
Next, let’s talk about their global presence. 99Stack Cloud has resources on every continent, allowing you to boost your global presence. They serve areas typically under-served by other cloud providers and the major popular regions. This means you can reach your customers no matter where they are.
Moving on to their pricing model, 99Stack Cloud operates on a pay-as-you-go basis. This means you only pay for what you use, making it a cost-effective solution compared to many Big Tech clouds. They offer enterprise-grade infrastructure at a fraction of the cost.
In terms of performance, all 99Stack Cloud services are powered by KVM virtualization. This technology is tweaked for performance and kept simple to ensure security, redundancy, and maximum performance.

Sydney, Australia, is an ideal data center location for a cloud server due to its reliable infrastructure, access to diverse internet networks, and reliable power sources. The city has multiple Tier 1 internet service providers, enabling access to global networks and a large range of local ISPs for local and intra-regional connections. The city is also home to two of Australia’s largest internet exchanges, making it a hub for local and international data traffic.
Additionally, Sydney has a reliable power grid with multiple sources of electricity, including two major hydroelectric power plants, making it an ideal location for server hosting. The city also has a favorable climate for hosting, with temperatures rarely falling below freezing, reducing the risk of hardware failure due to cold weather. Finally, Sydney’s central location in Australia is an ideal base for serving customers nationwide.

99Stack Cloud has a reputation for being quick to respond and always helpful. They are known for their ability to solve problems efficiently. However, it’s important to note that all servers are unmanaged. While they help you get your servers up and running, you’re largely on your own.
They have a well-documented, flexible, and easy-to-use API. This API is designed with proper version management and no breaking changes. This means that you can manage your public cloud resources with ease.
Next, 99Stack has a community for developers. This community is a platform for developers to learn and share their knowledge and best practices in cloud computing, programming, security, and privacy. This is a valuable resource for users to get support from peers.
Furthermore, they have launched a new support site. To open a “ticket,” click on the Contact link in the page’s upper right corner. This will open a simple form from which you can email [email protected].
Conclusion
Our exploration spanned a variety of benchmarks to gauge its performance, including I/O speed, upload/download speeds, latency across various global locations, and a comprehensive look at its CPU and disk performance through more technical tests.
In the Basic Bench test, the VPS demonstrated good I/O speeds, averaging 391.7 MB/s, just below the threshold for excellent performance. Its connectivity prowess was highlighted in the node test, showcasing impressive upload and download speeds across the globe, with a particularly standout performance in Singapore. On the detailed tech side, the Yabs performance bench showed mixed read/write speeds, peaking at around 185.35 MB/s for the smaller block sizes and reaching just under 378 MB/s for the larger blocks, showcasing good disk performance.
The Geekbench 6 results further detailed the server’s capabilities, with a single-core score of 764 and a multi-core score of 1412, positioning the VPS’s performance within the standard range for this setup. The UnixBench scores painted a picture of robust CPU performance, especially in multi-threaded tasks, with a notable increase in system benchmarks index score when running parallel copies of tests.
Conclusively, the 99Stack Australia Sydney Standard VPS Instance boasts solid performance credentials, particularly in its network capabilities and disk performance, with generally good CPU performance indicators. While it’s not breaking new ground in single-core processes, its multi-core and disk performance metrics signify a reliable choice for various web hosting needs.
