Exoscale Germany Munich Standard Instance VPS Hosting Test and Review
This time, we’re diving into the Exoscale Germany Munich Standard Instance VPS Server. It’s powered by an Intel Xeon Processor (Skylake) and boasts specs like 2 CPU cores, 4 GB of RAM, 50 GB of SSD storage, a 10 Gbps internet connection, and one IPv4 address.
Our review will cover many tests: the Basic Benchmark, Yabs, and Unix Benchmark for key metrics, the Global Node Test to check out the network far and wide, and the Global Ping Test to see how fast it responds.
We’re also looking at how well it handles media with the Media Unlock Test, testing connection quality with the CloudFlare Internet Test, and measuring web performance with tools like PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix Performance.

Admin Control Panel
Exoscale’s Admin Control Portal, also known as the Exoscale Console, is a user-friendly interface that allows you to manage your cloud infrastructure.
Firstly, the portal provides a simple login process. Once you log in, you can start managing your cloud infrastructure. If you need help, you can contact their support directly through the portal.
Secondly, the portal allows you to create organizations. These are team workspaces where different users can operate on a common account with their billing. This feature is very useful for businesses where the technical staff and the accounting department must handle different aspects of the account.
Thirdly, the portal provides a feature to switch contexts between organizations. You can do this by clicking on the account name dropdown in the upper right of the portal. This feature is beneficial when you are a member of multiple organizations.
Fourthly, the portal allows you to add and manage users in your organization. Only users with the OWNER role can manage user memberships in an organization. When you invite users, you can select a user role from the following options: OWNER, TECH, and ADMIN. Each role has different rights and responsibilities.
Server Pricing
In terms of pricing, Exoscale stands out for its transparency and flexibility. There are no up-front costs, and you pay only for what you use. This pay-as-you-go model is particularly beneficial for businesses that need to scale their infrastructure up or down based on demand.
Official Website: https://www.Exoscale.com
Payments
You can pay for Exoscale’s services in CHF, EUR, or USD. They accept various payment methods, including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express cards, that support 3D Secure payment verification. PayPal is also an acceptable payment method, but only in Pre-Paid Mode.
Exoscale provides two billing modes: pre-paid and post-paid. In the pre-paid mode, you add funds to your account before using the resources. If your balance reaches zero, Exoscale suspends your organization. In the post-paid mode, you can consume resources freely, and Exoscale charges your registered credit card every month for the amount you have consumed. Established companies with a proven line of credit can request access to post-paid billing with wire transfers after a manual vetting process.
Exoscale sends invoices via email. For pre-paid billing mode, they send the invoice immediately after processing the payment. For post-paid billing mode, they send invoices monthly based on your registration date. In post-paid billing with a credit card, invoices are sent 3 days before withdrawing the invoiced amount from your credit card. Please note that you need to manually pay wire invoices within 10 days after the invoice date.
You can change your billing mode. If you are in pre-paid billing mode, you can move to post-paid by credit card mode by registering a credit card. To post-pay by wire transfer, you need to open a support ticket. If you are in any post-paid billing mode (card or wire transfer), you can move to any other mode by contacting their support team.

Moving on, they offer three additional support plans: Starter, Pro, and Enterprise. The Starter plan, ideal for startups and SMEs running production infrastructures, guarantees a response time of four hours. It also includes additional authentication options and detailed usage reporting.
Next, the Pro plan, which will be available soon, promises an hour’s response time. It includes services to detect and track events on the platform. Lastly, the Enterprise plan, which is also coming soon, offers a response time of 30 minutes, 24/7 support via ticket, phone, or chat, and a dedicated Customer Success Manager.
To switch between these plans, you can contact their support team. You can message them to know more about their support plans. Their support team will reach out to you shortly.
Conclusion
Starting with the Basic Bench, the server delivered an average I/O Speed of 321 MB/s, which places it in the “good” category for disk speed performance. Network testing revealed impressive upload and download speeds, which are especially notable in European locations like Paris and Amsterdam, with latency figures highlighting the server’s excellent connectivity in closer regions.
The Yabs Performance Bench further bolstered our confidence in this server’s capabilities. It showed remarkable read and write speeds, particularly with larger block sizes, where it achieved upwards of 1.41 GB/s in mixed read/write operations and even higher rates for sequential access.
The Geekbench 6 results showed a single-core score of 1014 and a multi-core score of 1802, categorizing the server’s CPU performance as “good” in multi-core tasks and “standard” in single-core tasks, suitable for various applications. UnixBench scores, both in single and parallel test runs, underscored the server’s robust CPU and disk performance, with the parallel test runs notably pushing the benchmarks significantly higher.
In conclusion, the Exoscale Germany Munich Standard Instance VPS server stands out as a reliable and potent option for hosting needs, especially for those prioritizing high-speed disk performance and network connectivity in Europe. Its performance in single and multi-core CPU tests ensures versatility across different use cases, from web hosting to more demanding applications. Despite this, potential users should consider specific performance needs, including I/O speed and CPU benchmarks, to match their requirements.
