Vultr Singapore General Purpose Cloud Dedicated Server Test and Review
Let’s test the Vultr Singapore cloud server, which is optimized for general use. It runs on an AMD EPYC-Rome processor and comes with these specs: a 2-core CPU, 8 GB of RAM, 50 GB of SSD storage, a super-fast 10 Gbps net connection, plenty of bandwidth at 5 TB, and it includes IPv4 and IPv6 address.
Our evaluation covers several key areas: we’ve got the Basic Benchmark, Yabs, and Unix Benchmark to check out core performance. We’re also running a comprehensive network check through the Global Node Test and timing the response speed with the Global Ping Test.
There’s the Media Unlock Test to see if you can access media content easily. To assess connection quality, we’ve got the CloudFlare Internet Test. Lastly, we’ll evaluate web performance using tools like PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix Performance.
About Vultr
Vultr Dedicated Servers, also known as Vultr Dedicated Cloud (VDC), is a part of the Vultr platform and a leading provider of cloud services. These servers offer a unique blend of flexibility and power, providing users with dedicated resources for optimal performance.
The Vultr Dedicated Servers are designed to provide users with the advantages of a dedicated server without the lack of flexibility that often comes with dedicated hosting. This means users get the best of both worlds: dedicated resources’ power and reliability and cloud services’ flexibility and scalability.
One of the key features of Vultr Dedicated Servers is the ability to rent a portion or an entire dedicated server. Users can rent 25%, 50%, 75%, or even a dedicated server. This flexibility allows users to scale their resources according to their needs, ensuring they only pay for what they use.
Regarding resources, Vultr Dedicated Servers have a dedicated CPU, SSD drives, and RAM. These dedicated resources ensure that users don’t have to share their server resources with others, eliminating the issue of ‘noisy neighbors.’ This means that users can enjoy high performance without interference from others on the same server.
Vultr Dedicated Servers also offer high-speed public and private networking. This ensures that users enjoy fast and reliable connectivity, which is crucial for running high-performance applications and services.

Admin Control Panel
The Vultr Cloud Admin Console, also known as the Vultr Web Console, is a powerful tool that provides users with a comprehensive control panel to manage their Vultr Cloud Account, instances, and snapshots. It’s designed to simulate the experience of sitting in front of a physical machine when network access is unavailable.
The console supports all major browsers and is particularly useful for server troubleshooting, credential resets, network configuration, and quickly checking the VPS state. However, it’s important to note that it is not a full replacement for SSH or Remote Desktop clients.
Accessing the Web Console is straightforward. Users navigate to their Customer Portal, click ‘Products,’ select their instance, and then click the ‘View Console’ icon in the upper right.
The console also supports clipboard functionality, allowing users to send it to the server. This is achieved by opening the noVNC control bar, clicking the ‘Clipboard’ button, pasting the clipboard into the text box, and then clicking the ‘Paste’ button to send the text to the server console.

Payment Methods: Vultr accepts a variety of payment methods, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, PayPal, Alipay, UnionPay, and even cryptocurrencies through BitPay (BTC, BCH, ETH, DOGE, PAX, LTC, USDC).
Billing Cycle: Vultr operates on a post-paid billing cycle. This means that users are billed at the end of the billing period for the resources they use. The total cost will be calculated based on the usage of the services.
Overage Charges: If users exceed their allocated bandwidth, overage charges apply. The rate varies depending on the instance location, ranging from $0.01/GB to $0.05/GB.
Account Balance: Vultr has an “Account Max Balance” system. Each new user is assigned a balance limit, and if the projected usage exceeds this limit, the user is asked to deposit funds into their account. This limit can be extended after the deposit.

Conclusion
In the Basic Bench test, the server presented exceptional disk I/O (Input/Output) speeds, consistently above 1 GB/s across multiple runs, peaking at 1.4 GB/s. This falls into the ‘excellent’ category by a wide margin, promising swift data handling and an agile server response. Network performance varied globally, but was impressed with high upload and download speeds, especially from nearby locations like Singapore, and showed ultra-low latency, which is key for a responsive user experience.
The Yabs performance bench echoed the high disk I/O performance seen in Basic Bench, with read and write operations ranging between 262.71 MB/s and 1.77 GB/s across different file sizes, confirming stability and speed in handling files. The Geekbench 6 results delivered a single-core score of 1543 and a multi-core score of 2675. While the single-core performance is ‘good,’ the multi-core score suggests a robust capacity for handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Running UnixBench revealed strong CPU performance, with the server’s multitasking ability and file-handling capabilities scoring well into the upper echelons. The second run with parallel copies of tests showed even higher efficiencies. Most notably, the index scores from both runs indicate that the server can handle complex tasks without sweat.
In conclusion, the Vultr Singapore server impresses with top-tier I/O speeds and multi-core processing power. Its network performance is solid, especially in Asian regions, making it a reliable choice for demanding applications that rely on fast data access and handling. This server’s configuration would suit businesses looking for heavy-duty performance and speed in web hosting tasks.
