cloudscale.ch Switzerland Zurich AMD EPYC Dedicated Cores Swiss Cloud Server Test and Review
We’ve reviewed a high-powered cloud server from cloudscale.ch in Zurich, Switzerland. It has a speedy AMD EPYC Processor and comes with a 2-core CPU, 4 GB of memory, 50 GB of SSD storage, a super-fast 10 Gbps internet connection, and one IPv4 and IPv6 address.
Our team runs it through standard checks: the Basic Benchmark, Yabs, and Unix Benchmark to see how it performs on everyday tasks. We’ll look at its network reach with the Global Node Test and check how quickly it responds to the Global Ping Test.
We’ll also see if it can stream region-locked media, check its connection stability with the CloudFlare Internet Test, and finally, we’ll use PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix Performance to judge how well websites run on it.

Conclusion
In our Basic Bench tests, the I/O speeds were impressive, averaging 911.3 MB/s, which is good and well above the 500 MB/s mark we consider the baseline for solid performance. Its ability to handle simultaneous read and write operations stood out, particularly in the Yabs Performance Bench, hitting as high as 4.66 GB/s. This is excellent by any standard.
The Geekbench 6 results showed a single-core score of 1439 and a multi-core score of 2630, placing the server in the ‘good’ category. It shows that the server is more than capable of handling standard computing tasks. Similarly, our UnixBench tests confirmed the server’s computational strength, with a particularly high score of 7108.3 on Dhrystone 2, demonstrating a powerful CPU performance.
In our global network and latency tests, the server offered varied results. Connections to locations like Amsterdam and Paris yielded rapid upload and download speeds with low latency. However, more distant locations like Singapore and Tokyo presented higher latency, which isn’t unusual due to the increased distance the data needs to travel.
In conclusion, the cloudscale.ch server delivers solid and reliable performance, especially in storage I/O and CPU tasks. This server is a strong candidate for businesses located in or targeting users within Europe, demonstrating high speeds and low latency in the vicinity. It might not be the best choice for services requiring the fastest response times across the globe, but it stands out as a high-performance option for regional use.
