Bite Latvia Riga AMD EPYC 7453 Cloud Virtual Server Test and Review
We recently reviewed the Bite cloud server from Latvia, which uses an AMD EPYC 7453 28-core Processor. The server setup includes 4 CPU cores, 8 GB of memory, 100 GB of SSD storage, a 1 Gbps internet connection, and one IPv4 address.
Our review covered a range of tests. We ran the Basic Benchmark, Yabs, and Unix Benchmark for general performance. We checked network strength with the Global Node Test and used the Global Ping Test for response times.
To perform the Media Unlock Test to see if the server can access content in different regions. We assessed the quality of the internet connection using the CloudFlare Internet Test. Finally, we evaluated web speed with tools like PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix.

Conclusion
We looked at input/output speeds and network performance, starting with the Basic Bench test. The server consistently wrote and retrieved data with speeds averaging around 546.7 MB/s. On the network front, it flexed impressive upload and download prowess, hitting speeds as high as 831.05 Mbps for uploads and 1295.46 Mbps for downloads in certain regions. However, it did stumble a bit in others, particularly in Chongqing, China, due to long distances or possibly restrictive network policies in place.
Using Yabs, we tested mixed read/write operations under different file sizes, with the server showing particularly strong results when juggling large files—over 1.97 GB/s for 64k blocks. The Geekbench 6 results corroborated these findings with a solid single-core score of 1114 and a multi-core score of 3285, pointing to a system that handles single and multi-threaded tasks well.
UnixBench pushed the server further, giving us a peek at how it handles tasks, from compiling programs to managing system calls. The results? The server is more than capable, with particularly sky-high numbers when all cores were tested, pushing the index score up to 3778, which means it can juggle numerous tasks at once without breaking a sweat.
In summary, the Bite server is a force to be reckoned with. It can swiftly handle various tasks, from simple data hiccups to more intense computations. While network speeds were generally high, there were variations based on location—as expected due to the physical distance and network infrastructure.
