VerticHost Romania Bucharest Intel Xeon E-2236 High Performance KVM VPS Test and Review

We recently reviewed the VerticHost Romania Bucharest high-speed VPS. This server draws strength from an Intel Xeon E-2236 CPU running at 3.40GHz. It’s set up with 2 CPU cores, has 4 GB of RAM, 40 GB of SSD storage, and a 100 Mbps internet connection, and it doesn’t limit the amount of data you can use. Additionally, it comes with one IPv4 address and one IPv6 address.

To evaluate the server, we ran a range of tests. We started with standard performance checks using Basic Benchmark, Yabs, and Unix Benchmark. We assessed the network’s reach and quality worldwide through Global Node and Ping tests and checked the server’s ability to access different media content across regions. Finally, we measured the server’s internet connection with the CloudFlare test and tested web performance using tools like PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix.

Conclusion

The server’s performance in our Basic Bench tests was solid, especially in the I/O speed tests, where it demonstrated an average of 1140.1 MB/s. The upload and download speeds were consistently near the 100 Mbps mark, and although latency varied across different locations, it remained within the expected ranges for global services. Cities closer to the server, like Paris and Amsterdam, naturally exhibited lower latency, whereas more distant locations, like Shanghai and Tokyo, showed higher latency figures.

Further digging into the server’s prowess, the Yabs Performance Bench highlighted its fast mixed read/write disk speeds, peaking at 2.69 GB/s for larger block sizes. Additionally, Geekbench 6 results reflected a strong single and multi-core performance, indicative of the server’s adept handling of various computational tasks.

UnixBench scores offer a deep dive into CPU performance. Running single and parallel tests, the server scored significantly higher than the baseline, showcasing the CPU’s capability to efficiently handle single and multi-threaded processes.
