ShiftHosting United States Dallas AMD EPYC 7742 Budget Cloud Server Test and Review
We recently reviewed the ShiftHosting budget cloud server in Dallas, USA. This server uses a powerful AMD EPYC 7742 64-Core Processor with these specs: 16-core CPU, 32GB of RAM, 320GB SSD for storage, a fast 1Gbps internet connection, 16TB of data transfer, and both IPv4 and IPv6 address.
In our evaluation, we conducted a series of tests. We started with basic performance checks (Basic Benchmark, Yabs, and Unix Benchmark), which gave us a good overview of the server’s capabilities. We then looked at the server’s network performance worldwide (Global Node Test) and checked how quickly it responds to pings (Global Ping Test), which is important for a snappy user experience.
Our team also examined if the server can stream media from various regions (Media Unlock Test), how well it connects through CloudFlare’s network (CloudFlare Internet Test), and how fast it loads webpages (using tools like PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix Performance).

Starting with the basics, our I/O speed tests yielded impressive results, with an average speed of 785 MB/s after three runs. A deeper dive into network performance via speed tests across various global nodes revealed inconsistencies.
