MoonQube United States Ashburn Intel Xeon Standard Virtual Machine Test and Review

MoonQube United States Ashburn Intel Xeon Standard Virtual Machine Test and Review

We recently reviewed MoonQube‘s standard virtual server in Ashburn, USA. It has an Intel Xeon processor featuring 2 CPU cores, 4 GB of memory, 80 GB of SSD space, and a 10 Gbps network connection. It comes with 4 TB of data transfer and a single IPv4 address.

For testing, we used a variety of tools. We checked basic performance using benchmark tests like Yabs and Unix Benchmark. We ran global node and ping tests to evaluate the network to see response times.

Our team also checked whether the server can access media content from different regions, how well it connects through CloudFlare, and how fast it loads web pages with tools like PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix.

Conclusion

Starting with the basics, we put the server through three I/O speed tests, which showed average read and write speeds of 672 MB/s. Network performance varied depending on location, with excellent download speeds up to 5669 Mbps and decent upload speeds reaching 2641 Mbps in the U.S. The latency was, as expected, lower within the U.S., with the lowest being 21.98 ms in Montreal, and it increased significantly when pinging distant locations like Hong Kong and Singapore.

For disk performance under varied loads, our Yabs Performance Bench indicated solid speeds, with mixed read and write operations showing up to 1.67 GB/s for larger block sizes. As measured by UnixBench, CPU performance revealed a significant improvement when tests were run in parallel, indicating good multi-core optimization. Geekbench provided us with single and multi-core scores of 1390 and 2512, respectively, which is impressive for a server of this configuration.

In conclusion, MoonQube’s virtual server shows robust performance in I/O operations, admirable CPU power, and competent network capabilities with a naturally varied but acceptable global latency. These attributes highlight its suitability for various online applications, particularly those serving U.S.-based users or requiring substantial computational resources.
