Luxvps Germany Frankfurt Intel Xeon 2680v2 Powered KVM Root Server Test and Review

We recently checked out the Luxvps Germany Frankfurt server powered by a fast Intel Xeon processor. This server has a 4-core CPU, 12GB of memory, a super-fast 80GB NVMe SSD for storage, a high-speed 1Gbps internet connection, and 1TB of data transfer capacity. It also has strong 3.2Tbit DDoS protection and one unique IP address.

We measured basic performance metrics, checked network capabilities on a global scale, and tested how quickly it responds to pings from around the world. To check whether you can access content from different regions, we put it through a Media Unlock Test.

To evaluate the quality of its internet connection, we used the CloudFlare Internet Test. Lastly, we used PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix to see how well it could handle web performance tasks.

In our testing suite, we first ran the Basic Benchmark to measure I/O speeds, which showed varied results across three tests but averaged out to a respectable 621.7 MB/s. Network performance was tested worldwide, with upload/download speeds and ping responses ranging vastly depending on the location, from high-speed connectivity within Europe to significantly lower speeds and higher latency when pinging from certain areas in Asia. Notably, connectivity suffered severely in Chongqing, China, indicating potential regional restrictions or poor peering.

The Yabs Performance Bench revealed impressive disk speeds with mixed read/write operations, clocking in at up to 4.44 GB/s for large block transfers, showcasing the server’s rapid data handling capabilities. CPU performance was quantified by UnixBench, which delivered a rich index score of 2025, indicating excellent processing power across various tasks, from file copying to executing complex scripts.

We also conducted Media Unlock Tests to gauge the server’s capability to access various international content platforms. The server showed strong regional accessibility, successfully unblocking major services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+ in designated regions. However, it failed to unlock others like HotStar and Viu.com, reflecting its limitations in certain geographic locations.

In conclusion, the Luxvps server in Frankfurt delivers a powerful blend of speed and performance, adeptly handling intense data and network demands while presenting some limitations in global content accessibility and network speeds in specific regions. This combination of hardware prowess and connectivity makes it suitable for various high-performance hosting needs, albeit with some regional considerations to keep in mind.
