AdvancedHosting Netherlands Intel Xeon Gold Cloud Server Test and Review

We recently checked out the AdvancedHosting Smart Server in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It’s got a strong core – an Intel Xeon Gold 6338 CPU at 2.00GHz, along with 4 CPU cores, 8 GB of RAM, 80 GB of SSD storage, a fast 10 Gbps internet connection, 20 TB of bandwidth, and one IPv4 Address.

Here’s a simple rundown of the tests we did:

  • Basic Tests: We started with standard benchmarks, looking at speed and performance with tools like Yabs and Unix Benchmark.
  • Network Quality: We then put the network through its paces using the Global Node Test to see how it holds up under stress and the Global Ping Test to check how quick the response times are.
  • Media Access: We checked if you can access regionally-restricted media with the Media Unlock Test.
  • Connection Quality: To understand how well it plays with CloudFlare, we ran the CloudFlare Internet Test.
  • Web Performance: Finally, we used PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix to see how well websites could run on this server.

AdvancedHosting Netherlands Intel Xeon Gold Cloud Server Test and Review

AdvancedHosting.com’s cloud server Admin Control Panel is designed to provide a user-friendly interface for managing your cloud servers. It is designed for advanced users and does not include administration. If you need administration, this service is available for an additional fee.

The control panel allows you to manage various aspects of your server, including the configuration, billing, and support. It also provides detailed statistics, simplifying the work and file management.

One of the key features of the control panel is its support for KVM virtualization technology (Kernel-based Virtual Machine). This technology allows for the creating of virtual machines that can run their operating systems, providing high flexibility and control.

The control panel does not come with a pre-installed control panel. This means that users are free to install and use the control panel of their choice, tailoring the server environment to their specific needs.

Conclusion

In our initial Basic Bench tests, the server’s I/O speed started modestly at 116 MB/s but quickly ramped up, averaging a speedy 237.3 MB/s. The network performance tests revealed impressive upload and download speeds across several global nodes, with particularly low latency in locations close to Amsterdam, indicating strong regional connectivity.

The Yabs performance tests, which provide insights into read-write and input/output operations per second (IOPS), showed solid results, especially with larger block sizes. For instance, we saw read and write speeds upwards of 1.30 GB/s for 64k blocks, suggesting that the server can efficiently handle substantial workloads.

Detailed analysis using Geekbench and UnixBench benchmarks showed the server’s processing power to be robust, with the system scoring high across various computational and data-handling tasks. In multi-core tests, where all four CPU cores were put to work simultaneously, the performance index rose significantly, underscoring the server’s capability to handle parallel processing effectively.

For media accessibility tests, the server showed it could unlock certain regional content, indicating its potential for those looking to host multimedia applications. However, popular services like Disney+ and YouTube Premium were unavailable, and only Netflix originals were accessible.

To conclude, the AdvancedHosting Smart Server in Amsterdam seems to be a powerful and reliable choice. The combination of high bandwidth, excellent processing power, and fast storage indicates that it’s well-suited for heavy-duty tasks and could be an excellent server for businesses with demanding data and network requirements. While it excels in certain regional content accessibility, there are limitations for specific services, which should be considered based on the user’s needs.
