FDC Servers Netherlands Amsterdam AMD EPYC 7713 Unmetered Bare Metal Server Test and Review

Thanks to FDC Servers for letting us try out their top-notch server. I’m thrilled to report that this machine is incredibly powerful, just like a beast! Thanks again to the team (Tomas, Vince, Harlen, Dilon, and Liliia). This team is very professional and very responsive in communication. 3xGreat.

We checked out an Amsterdam, Netherlands server with these impressive specs: an AMD EPYC 7713 processor with 64 cores. It also has 1 TB of RAM and 2TB NVMe SSD storage. The Internet connection is super-fast at 100Gb/s, and there’s no cap on the data you can use. Plus, there’s one IPv4 address included.

We ran a bunch of tests to see how the server performs. Basic benchmarking, Yabs, and Unix Benchmark gauged the core performance. We also tested the network speed worldwide and checked how long data travels with a Global Ping Test.

For streaming and content access from different areas, we ran Media Unlock Tests. The CloudFlare Internet Test gave us insights into the server’s connection quality. Lastly, we used tools like PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix to measure how well the server delivers web content.

The exact pricing for FDC Servers.net’s bare metal servers is not directly listed on their website. However, their website provides a configurator tool that allows you to customize your server and get a price estimate.

They also provide a list of upgrade pricing for various components such as RAM, HDD/SSD/NVMe, and Raid controller upgrades. For example, an 8GB RAM upgrade costs $40 one-time and $10 monthly. A 3TB HDD upgrade costs $60 one-time and $15 monthly. A 1TB NVMe upgrade costs $80 one-time and $20 per month.

Please note that these prices are for North America and Europe, and prices for APAC and LATAM may vary. I recommend visiting the FDC Servers.net website for the most accurate and up-to-date pricing.

Conclusion

Upon running several tests, our findings were consistently impressive. The Basic Bench test showed steady I/O speeds at 1.4 GB/s. A more comprehensive look during our network tests showed varied performance worldwide, with upload and download speeds peaking impressively at over 9 Gbps in Amsterdam. The server still maintained respectable speeds despite a few dips in specific locations like Hong Kong and Singapore.

The Yabs Performance Bench and UnixBench further emphasized the server’s muscle, especially in handling mixed read/write tasks with speeds above 1.8 GB/s and CPU performance excelling with high index scores across various parameters. Specifically, the Yabs test reflected a powerful capability in both read and write functions, recording over 4.8 GB/s in certain instances.

Regarding global content accessibility, the Media Unlock Test revealed mixed results. The server successfully accessed platforms like Dazn, YouTube Premium, and Amazon Prime Video in the US region but couldn’t unlock HotStar or Disney+.
