Zenlayer Vietnam Hanoi Compute-optimized Virtual Machine Test and Review
We’re going to check out Zenlayer Vietnam Hanoi‘s high-performance virtual server. This server uses a fast Intel Xeon Processor (Cascadelake). It comes with the following setup: a 2-core CPU, 4 GB of memory, 40 GB of solid-state storage, a speedy 1 Gbps internet connection, 1 TB of data traffic, and one IPv4 address.
We put the server through several tests:
- Basic Performance Tests: We looked at how powerful and responsive the server is through standard benchmarks.
- Network Tests: We assessed the network’s reach with a Global Node Test and checked how quickly it responds with a Global Ping Test.
- Regional Media Access Tests: We verified what media services the server can access in different areas.
- Connection Quality Tests: We measured how well the server connects to the internet with the help of CloudFlare’s testing tools.
- Website Speed Tests: We used tools like PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix to evaluate how quickly websites run on this server.

Zenlayer’s admin console, also known as zenConsole, is a comprehensive online portal that allows users to self-deploy various Zenlayer services. It offers a range of flexible self-service options, making it a powerful tool for managing and optimizing digital experiences.
The console provides access to Zenlayer’s Global Accelerator and Bare Metal Cloud services, among others. The Global Accelerator is designed to reduce latency and accelerate connectivity, while the Bare Metal Cloud allows users to deploy applications on high-performance, dedicated servers instantly.
One of the standout features of the console is its upgraded alert management system. This system includes logs and triggers, giving users detailed insights into their services’ performance. The console also supports auto-numbering of instances during creation, which can be a significant time-saver for users managing multiple instances.
In addition to these features, the console has upgraded rules for the default security group and added support for port descriptions. This makes it easier for users to manage their security settings and understand the purpose of each port.
The zenConsole has been recently upgraded with new features and services that users can self-provision. It also sports a new look, enhancing the user experience. It now offers more flexibility with the introduction of Zenlayer Virtual Machine, allowing users to customize specs to meet their needs while running on Zenlayer’s ultra-low latency network.
The console also provides networking services, including Zenlayer Cloud Router and Zenlayer Private Connect. These services allow users to instantly provision a private network interconnecting data centers and clouds and connect data centers and clouds via a layer 2 network, respectively.

Payments
Zenlayer’s payment process is designed to be straightforward and convenient for its customers. When a customer acquires Zenlayer’s services, they agree to the terms of the Master Services Agreement.
Suppose a customer registers for a free trial of Zenlayer services or free services. In that case, the applicable provisions of this agreement will also govern that free trial or those free services.
In terms of payment methods, Zenlayer accepts various forms of payment. However, it’s important to note that if Zenlayer incurs any third-party processing fees resulting from the customer’s chosen method of payment, such as credit card fees, wire transfer fees, or bounced check fees, Zenlayer will pass these fees to the customer without any markup. This ensures transparency in their billing process.
Customer Support
Zenlayer is committed to providing excellent customer support. Their dedicated support team is available 24/7 to assist with any issues or inquiries. This ensures that customers can get the help they need, no matter what time of day it is.

Conclusion
This server is fueled by a robust Intel Xeon Processor (Cascadelake) and is equipped with a dual-core CPU, 4GB of RAM, and 40GB SSD storage, with internet speeds capable of reaching 1Gbps. The initial input/output speed tests showed consistent average speeds of 181.3 MB/s over three runs, demonstrating the server’s strong ability to read and write data quickly.
We conducted an extensive global node test regarding network capabilities, examining both the upload and download speeds and latency. Most strikingly, while high-speed transfers were noted across various international locations, performance dipped significantly in Chongqing, China, suggesting regional limitations. Yet, connectivity remained impressive within the Asia-Pacific region, particularly in Singapore and Mumbai, where high speeds and low latency were observed.
Yabs and UnixBench constituted the performance benchmarks, analyzing mixed read/write operations and CPU performance, among other metrics. Both tests yielded impressive results: Yabs recorded balanced read and write operations with speeds up to 196 MB/s. UnixBench provided an index score of 1455.4 in single-threaded operations, which doubled when leveraging the server’s multi-threading capability.
Media service accessibility tests uncovered that while the server had region-locked limitations, it successfully enabled services like YouTube Premium and Amazon Prime Video for its situated region, with some global services remaining unlocked.
In conclusion, the Zenlayer Vietnam Hanoi server boasts substantial speed and efficiency, with the agility to address heavy-duty computing demands. However, its global connectivity does experience some variances, possibly attributed to geographical and network factors. Despite certain regional restrictions on media access, the server’s strong overall performance underscores its suitability for high-intensity applications and content delivery within targeted regions.
