Oblivus United States Chicago AMD EPYC Rome Virtual Machine Test and Review
This time, we’re going to take a close look at the Oblivus virtual machine based in Chicago, USA. It utilizes an AMD EPYC Rome server with an AMD EPYC 7402P 24-core Processor. The server specs include a 2-core CPU, 8 GB of RAM, 40 GB of SSD storage, and a 10 Gbps internet port offering unlimited traffic.
We performed a series of tests to examine its performance. Tests include the Basic Benchmark, Yabs, and Unix Benchmark, all measuring crucial performance indicators. The Global Node Test provided a comprehensive network analysis, while the Global Ping Test helped gauge response times.
The Media Unlock Test evaluated regional accessibility, checking if applications or content are accessible from different regions. The CloudFlare Internet Test provided insights into the quality of the internet connection. Finally, we used two web performance measurement tools – PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix Performance – to understand how well websites would perform when hosted on this server.

Payments
Oblivus Cloud offers two main payment systems: Auto Top-Up for individual accounts and Pay-As-You-Go for business accounts.
Auto Top-Up for Individual Accounts:
- This feature is designed to make it easier for you to manage your account balance.
- Upon topping up your account for the first time, your credit card will be registered with their payment provider, Revolut.
- In the Auto Top-Up section of the console page, you can set a low limit and a top-up amount.
- The system ensures that when your account balance falls below the low limit you have set, it will automatically be topped up with the amount you specified, which will be charged to your registered credit card.
Pay-As-You-Go for Business Accounts:
- Business accounts cannot top up their balance using a credit card.
- You need to set a minimum limit of $500, which can be adjusted later.
- This limit will determine your monthly usage quota while the system is active.
- Oblivus requires a payment of twice the selected limit to activate the Pay-As-You-Go.
- The remaining half of the payment is held as a security deposit for both parties and is never used.
- Once the Pay-As-You-Go system is activated, you will receive an invoice at the beginning of each month detailing your monthly expenses within the specified limit.
Oblivus has partnered with Binance to ensure that all payments are secure and fraud-free through their KYC process. Customers can instantly use USDT, a stablecoin backed 1:1 with USD, to top up their account balance.

Conclusion
During our initial phase, we conducted a Basic Bench test. The server demonstrated varying I/O speeds between 185 and 297 MB/s with an average speed of around 226 MB/s. It performed exceptionally well in Speedtest.net, showing high upload and download speeds with the least latency. However, latency increased significantly for distant locations like Shanghai, Hongkong, Mumbai, and Singapore.
We also conducted the Yabs Performance Bench test, demonstrating read and write speeds across block sizes. The Geekbench 6 Benchmark Test featured a single-core performance value of 1358 and a multi-core performance value of 2427. The UnixBench test revealed impressive CPU performance with a high score, indicating that a higher score is better. The test was conducted twice with one and two parallel copies of tests, providing an overall system benchmark index score of 1448.6 and 2514.5, respectively.
In conclusion, the Oblivus virtual machine based in Chicago offered solid performance in various tests, demonstrating its ability to handle different tasks efficiently. It also excelled in regional accessibility tests, making it an excellent choice for diverse online operations. Whether you need to host a website or stream media, this virtual machine is a reliable choice.
